5 Ways to Make Your Skin Glow From Within

by Paul on March 10, 2014

BeautyHaving a healthy and beautiful skin is, like health in all departments, really, a matter of starting from within. Being healthy on the inside and watching what you eat can contribute greatly to your skin’s well-being and to almost get the job of skin care done, which we all know can turn into a chore if we allow the problems to accumulate. But by laying a solid foundation for our skin’s health, the job of taking care of it on the outside will be way easier and fun, more of a routine job than a problem-fixing one. With a healthy life-style and a bit of care for your skin, you can make it glow from within up to the point where it won’t even really need make up to look gorgeous. Here’s just a few ways to accomplish that.

1. Eat Foods Rich In Plant-Based Enzymes.

The need for enzymes in our alimentation is derived from the fact that once inside our bodies; the enzymes complete a whole number of vital functions: they help us digest by breaking up food; they prevent hemorrhage by clotting the blood and so on. But a little known effect of the enzymes is the fact that they keep skin healthy and can even make it glow from within by helping it renew faster. It’s almost like using a really good skin exfoliator without actually using it. You can find precious enzymes in raw honey (especially make of wild flowers), in raw nuts and seeds and in acidic fruit like citruses, mangoes and papaya. Get your fill.

2. Stop It With The Dieting.

Since we’re on the subject of food, eating healthy (and enough) should be a constant concern if you also want to make your skin glow from within. Having a diet poor in nutrients from time to time (in order to lose weight) can put a strain on your skin and make it not only dull and gray, but also prone to problems like acne, skin tags, dry patches, itchiness and so on. Also, focus on whole foods but don’t avoid animal-derived foods as they too contain wonderful nutrients your body needs. For example, there’s a solid link between egg consumption and skin care, so don’t just focus on the green part of having a healthy diet, as that would be restrictive and not as efficient.

3. Don’t Smoke.

I hope there’s no real need to elaborate on this point further. Smoking is one of the worst decisions you can make for your skin and even passive smoking can make your skin age visible in just a little while. The same warning goes for alcohol, if you’re drinking more than 3 glasses of wine (or equivalent) a week.

4. Relax.

Many skin conditions emerge in periods of time when you’re not relaxed enough and the stress is getting to you. You know that saying about “beauty sleep”? Well, it’s not really a saying. Get 8-9 hours of sleep every night and you’ll look lovelier than ever and your skin will glow from within.

5. Drink Those 2 Liters of Water a Day.

You’ve heard about the necessary 2 liters or 8 glasses up to the point where it gets annoying, I bet. Still, that doesn’t make it any less true. The better hydrated your skin is, the healthier it will be, the better-fed it will be (since water is necessary to transport all nutrients to the cells) and the more it will display a natural, beautiful glow from within.

If you think about it, it’s not as hard as it sounds. All it takes is a bit of self-discipline and routine and you’ll reveal that natural glow of your skin in no time.
